WHY WE EXIST

Ochabro was created from practice, not trend.

Through martial arts, I was introduced early to values like discipline, respect, craft, and presence. That mindset carried into everythingβ€”including my career in design, where I became drawn to ideas of simplicity, imperfection, and intentionality.

Concepts like wabi-sabi, kintsugi, and ikigai shaped how I move through and make sense of the world.

Teaβ€”especially matchaβ€”became a natural extension of that, and of my deeper interest in health and wellnessβ€”shifting from something to optimize into something to actually experience.

It wasn’t about the caffeineβ€”it was about how it slowed me down, becoming a daily ritual and a moment of joy.

My relationship to tea has deepened over timeβ€”not just through personal practice, but through family.

Today, my brother and his wife own and operate a tea farm in Japan, offering a closer lens into the care, craft, and intention behind every harvest.

That connection continues to shape how Ochabro is builtβ€”alongside my passion and curiosity for rethinking how we experience energy, joy, and daily life.

What it’s really about

Tea is not just a drink.

We’re inspired by Japanese tea culture, but we’re not here to replicate tradition or pretend to be experts.

We’re here to keep learning, source thoughtfully, and create tea experiences that feel fresh, high-quality, and alive.

We’re not here to redefine itβ€”
just to share a modern way to experience it.

Ochabro combines β€œocha,” meaning tea, with a nod to my brotherβ€”whose connection to tea has helped deepen my own. It reflects both where this comes from and how it continues to evolve.

HOW WE DO THINGS

We keep it simple, on purpose.
